If you’re dreaming of a wedding venue that feels modern, elegant, and timeless while still bringing all the warmth and joy of a Yorkshire celebration The Woodlands Leeds has it all. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, this is one of my absolute favourite venues to work at, and Katie & Tom’s day was the perfect example of why.

A morning full of GOOD vibes with the bridal party

Katie’s bridal prep was an absolute joy to capture. Surrounded by her bridesmaids and family, the morning was filled with laughter, music, and the kind of energy that sets the tone for the whole day. Katie herself was like a ray of sunshine, she didn’t stop smiling once, which made photographing her an absolute dream.

Her dress, from Eva Joyce Bridal, was simply stunning. A figure-hugging lace gown with a low back and a flared train, it was both elegant and effortlessly modern. Combined with flawless hair and makeup, she looked incredible.

The bridesmaids were dressed in gorgeous gowns from Six Stories, a brand I’ve quickly become obsessed with. Their dresses complemented Katie’s style beautifully and tied perfectly into the warm, romantic colour palette of the day.

burnt oranges, neutrals & dried florals

The styling of the wedding was breathtaking. Katie chose a palette of burnt oranges, champagnes, and neutrals, brought to life by Ellie’s Dried Delights. Ellie’s dried florals are always stunning, and these arrangements were no exception timeless, textural, and unique.

Inside the ceremony room, white blossom trees framed the aisle, styled by Debs Events, adding height and softness to the space. Behind the altar, a glowing neon “Mr & Mrs” sign created the perfect modern backdrop. It was such a thoughtful blend of romance and contemporary styling.

a ceremony full of light and love

The Orangery looked incredible as guests gathered for the ceremony. With its window covered walls and clean, modern design, it’s impossible to take a bad photo in this space. The combination of blossoms, dried florals, and Katie’s radiant smile created the perfect atmosphere.

One of my favourite things about The Woodlands? The confetti shot happens indoors as you walk back down the aisle. Some couples love their confetti outside, but honestly, in a space as beautiful as this, it feels fresh, fun, and different—an epic moment framed by light and colour.

portraits with a chic, timeless edge

Katie & Tom’s couples portraits were effortless. With her gown flaring behind her and Tom in a lighter suit jacket, they looked every bit the stylish, modern couple. The way they looked at each other made my job easy, their love was written all over their faces.

As a cinematic wedding photographer, I love balancing the romantic, timeless portraits with candid storytelling. Katie & Tom gave me the perfect opportunity to do both. Their portraits were elegant and romantic, while their wedding party shots were full of fun and laughter.

what a wedding party!

Speaking of the wedding party, what a group! The groomsmen couldn’t resist the classic “lifting the groom” shot, but with a twist that had everyone laughing. The bridesmaids, meanwhile, were effortlessly natural in front of the camera, their joy shining through in every candid frame.

These kinds of moments are the heart of soulful wedding photography capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt.

a party to remember

As day turned to night, The Woodlands transformed into a party space full of energy. Club Mojo Band brought the evening to life with an incredible set that had the dance floor packed from the very first song. Their first dance was beautiful, but it didn’t take long before everyone joined in laughing, singing, and dancing late into the night.

The styling by Debs Events and the dried florals by Ellie’s Dried Delights carried seamlessly into the entire day, tying every detail together with elegance and personality.

why the woodlands is a photographers dream

This was my third wedding at The Woodlands in Leeds this year, and honestly it never gets old. The Orangery’s natural light, the modern yet romantic styling, and the versatility of the space make it one of my favourite Leeds wedding venues.

Katie & Tom’s day was everything I love about weddings rolled into one: joy, emotion, style, and endless fun. From the emotional first looks to the wild dance floor, it was a privilege to capture their story.
