Shannon and David’s summer wedding at Hornington Manor was one of those days that reminds you exactly why you love photographing weddings. Warm, welcoming, emotional and effortlessly joyful from start to finish, it was a complete dream to document.


This was my first time photographing a wedding at Hornington Manor since its recent renovations, and while the venue has always been beautiful, the updates have truly elevated it into something special. The manor now feels every bit like a luxury country house wedding venue. Refined, elegant and thoughtfully designed, without losing its warmth or charm.

Morning PREPARATIONS at hornington manor



One of the things I loved most about this day was the way the morning unfolded. With Hornington Manor’s newly renovated bridal suite and preparation rooms, the space felt light, calm and luxurious a dream for wedding photography.


Rather than spending the entire morning solely with the bride, I was able to split my time between both Shannon and David. This meant getting to know not just Shannon’s bridal party, but also David’s family. His parents, nieces and close relatives which added such a lovely dynamic to the morning.


From the very beginning, it was clear how genuinely welcoming Shannon and David are. Not just as a couple, but as people. Their families and friends were no different warm, open, relaxed, and completely at ease in front of the camera. The love between everyone genuinely shone through, making the morning fly by and allowing for beautifully natural, unforced moments to unfold.


Shannon looked absolutely incredible in her wedding dress from Dotty Bridal. The floral lace detailing, off-the-shoulder neckline and beautifully fitted silhouette suited her perfectly and complemented the overall romantic feel of the day.


I also have to give a special mention to the videography team. Having worked with them once before, it was such a pleasure to collaborate again. Easy-going, professional and genuinely lovely to work alongside, they added so much to the day.

a ceremony full of emotion



The ceremony itself was incredibly moving. Intimate, heartfelt and filled with emotion. There were tears, laughter and so many quiet, meaningful glances exchanged between Shannon and David and their loved ones. These are always the moments I’m most drawn to photograph. The honest, fleeting expressions that tell the real story of the day.

drinks reception on the lawn



Following the ceremony, guests spilled out onto the manicured lawn behind Hornington Manor for the drinks reception. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it was the perfect setting for group photographs from bridesmaids and groomsmen to extended family, including grandparents.


The floral styling throughout the day complemented the setting beautifully. Soft summer pastels blues, pinks, oranges and delicate neutrals created a wildflower-inspired aesthetic that felt light, romantic and perfectly in keeping with the season. The flowers, paired with thoughtful styling details, tied the entire look of the day together effortlessly.

speeches that stole the show



The speeches were another standout moment. Emotional, heartfelt and incredibly personal, they had the entire room completely engaged. Shannon’s own speech was particularly memorable. Confident, touching and beautifully delivered, it genuinely left everyone in awe.


These are the moments where the energy of the day really peaks laughter through tears, proud glances from parents, friends holding each other close and they’re always some of my favourite memories to capture.

golden hour and couples portraits at hornington



One of the reasons Hornington Manor is such a special wedding venue for photography is its light. The sun stays behind the house for much of the day, meaning the back lawn is bathed in the most beautiful glow as evening approaches.


After the speeches, while guests stayed into the barn area, we took advantage of the quieter lawn for couple portraits. First during the softer afternoon light, and later again during golden hour a moment Shannon and David had hoped for, and one that truly delivered.


The result was the most stunning golden hour portraits warm, glowing, intimate images that perfectly captured the calm between the celebration.

evening celebrations and dance floor energy



As evening fell, the energy shifted and the celebrations truly began. With a live band setting the tone, the dance floor quickly filled, and the atmosphere became electric. There was no shortage of movement, laughter and joy  exactly the kind of evening that makes for the most dynamic, story-filled images.

Shannon and David’s wedding at Hornington Manor was joyful, emotional and deeply personal a day filled with warmth, connection and unforgettable moments. From the newly renovated prep spaces to the golden hour light and high-energy evening celebrations, it was a privilege to capture every part of it.
